Rhianydd Webb from Dragons and Daffodils Cakes returns to the Academy to teach this fast selling sharp edges class. Ideal for beginners, this class will teach you how to cover a real 6″ sponge cake with ganache and sugar paste to achieve professional standard sharp edges. Rhianydd will then patiently guide you through various different decoration techniques including using flower moulds to create a beautiful rose border and creating a delicate flower topper, using wafer paper and a steamer.
She will also demonstrate additional techniques that you could use to embellish your future cake designs including how to use moulds, cut simple flowers and popular frill techniques. There will also be a discussion on safe dowelling methods for tiered cakes, making this the perfect class for beginners or anyone wanting to learn a wide range of cake decorating skills.
Throughout the day Rhianydd will impart invaluable hints and tips accumulated across many years of experience in the sugarcraft industry. Our Academy staff will also be on hand to provide guidance and assistance should you require it. At the end of the session, we will provide you with a cake box so that you can take your cake creation home with you. Please note, some creations that are made using real cake bases will be heavier than those created using a polystyrene dummy so please take this into consideration when making your travel arrangements.
There’s no hassle when you book onto a Renshaw Academy course as everything you need for the day is included. We’ll provide all of your materials, equipment, food and drink so all you have to do is arrive and decorate!
